Infrastructure (endowment) ERAMET Laboratory
Main machinery and laboratory equipment purchased in the last 10 years
Activity of Production and Refining Metallic Materials Laboratory ERAMET is held in the Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering, Politehnica University of Bucharest, building J, 313 Splaiul Independence, sector 6.
The laboratory includes several locations namely JB 112 and JB 214 with appropriate logistic to theoretical study of the physico-chemical and metallurgical processes, specific for making and refining of the metallic materials, and the laboratory also includes rooms JK 001 and JK 002 with the experimental installations and devices.
The research activity within the Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering has improved, since 1990, by addressing new research topics in the field of metallic materials and high-performance materials (special steels, composites, biomaterials, amorphous and nanocrystalline etc).

Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering, Politehnica University of Bucharest
The Production and Refining Metallic Materials Laboratory ERAMET operates within of Materials Science and Engineering faculty from 2010 as a research and teaching unit specific in production and refining of metallic materials. As a result, the Laboratory has endowments specific to this field, and the information point containing specialized papers in materials science, computing (desktops, laptops), printers, video projectors.

Material resources and existing infrastructure in the Laboratory works ERAMET provides teaching and research achievement in production and refining metallic materials, the laboratory is involved in using the most advanced industry-specific technologies.
The Production and Refining of Metallic Materials Laboratory ERAMET is an experimental support, particularly for Steelmaking Engineering, Refining of Steel, Processing of Biocompatible Materials and Special Steels courses.
In Politehnica University of Bucharest currently pursuing a modernization program for the education and research amenities, based on investment from budget, funds research and other revenue.
Politehnica University of Bucharest - rectorship
Thus, Politehnica University of Bucharest aims to continue the activities of endowment of all university laboratories with modern equipment that ensures the development of engineering skills and getting good results in scientific research by the University to grow in prestige and reputation.
Regarding collaboration between different research infrastructures, recently (December 14th. 2015), it was launched Web Platform "National Register Research Infrastructures ERRIS" (Engage in the Romanian Research Infrastructures System).
ERRISWeb Platform (www.erris.gov.ro) is supporting research infrastructures coordinators public / private in Romania and those who wish to enjoy the services provided by these facilities, stimulating the scientific community collaboration and participation of Romania at national and international networks in the field.
ERRIS platform, presentation
IIn the Platform ERRIS each research unit will have its own page with loadable information of interest to potential beneficiaries: human resources, available equipment, services, contact details.
In Politehnica University of Bucharest has started the process of centralization of information relating to the infrastructure of University laboratories, in order to promote more efficient, by ERRIS platform, services they provide both nationally and internationally.
Regarding the processing of researches results, since 1990, priority was considered introduction and modernization of computing network, buying in the SIM faculty of over 70 computers for use formative activities.
In parallel, through local financial resources, it was carried supplying computers to teachers from each department and each laboratory, for teaching and research activities.
Currently, most teachers use computers and thei have access to internet and intranet networks.
The most important equipment, specific for research field approached, which are in the Laboratory ERAMET:
Vacuum Induction Furnace BALZERS HU-40-25-40-04
Vacuum Arc Remelting Installation MRF ABJ 900
Installation for Powder Materials Injection in Metal Melts
Induction Processing with Compact Converter
Preheating Alloys and Thermic Treatment Furnace
Arc/Spark Optical Emission Spectrometer
