Main facilities, description, technical characteristics

The endowment ERAMET Laboratory include various auxiliary equipment and devices such as analytical balances metallic charge dosage, different devices for cutting and preparation of castings, and to determine the chemical composition, different metallic materials and tools used in the production and refinement of alloys, and a thermal processing furnace with pirolan tube for heating and melting of small  quantities metallic or non-metallic materials.

Thermal processing furnace

Thermal Processing Furnace is for heating and melting inside the pirolan tube in which is work chamber, in ceramic nacelles adequate capacity 5...10 cm³ of metallic and nonmetallic materials.

Also, Thermal Processing Furnace can be used for:

 

  • study reduce oxides;

  • kinetics of reducing oxides;

  • dissociation of carbonates etc.

 

It can work either in the atmosphere conventional, in gas environment (argon, nitrogen, CO, CO2) depending on metallurgical processes pursued to achieve.
 

The furnace heating is made by electric resistance, maximum working temperature being of about 1200°C.

High precision analytical balances KERN equips ERAMET Laboratory and serve for dosing metallic load, being capable to weights measuring between 0...10 kg with an accuracy of 4 decimal places.

ERAMET Laboratory is equipped with adequate logistics for the storage and dosing in special conditions of all metals and alloys for production metallic alloys.
